I will be interviewing Kaitlin Anderson, someone who lives in my dorm building. I will be asking five to six questions on the topic of intellectual humility and before I ask these questions and get the short conversation started, I will explain to her what this strategy is. With my paper, I will ask how this strategy promotes complexities/diversity in individuals (second prompt) and also ask what she feels is good and bad about intellectual humility. I plan to ask questions about other strategies she may use, if she uses this strategy, how it is a challenge, and just her general thoughts and opinions on the strategy I am writing about. I want to be able to use whatever she says to make my paper stronger in the end with her full honesty. She will not know about the questions I am asking her so that what she is saying comes from what she is actually thinking and not planned. I hope this interview goes well and I have extra questions if needed.
Questions in my script include:
- What do you think of this strategy?
- Do you think it is effective and helps overcome categorization?
- What are some pros and cons to this strategy
- Do you believe you have intellectual humility?
- What other strategies do you find effective (listening, empathy) specifically when it comes to promoting complexities?
